Overpopulation Crisis - 1246 Words

There are several contributing factors to the overpopulation crisis, however, with changes these factors could also be part of the solution. A few of these factors are discussed in an interview with Melanie Asriel, the Psychological Sciences Instructor at WKU of Glasgow, Kentucky. According to Melanie Asriel, â€Å"The lack of family planning and contraceptive use has contributed to this problem†¦contraception, education, and the including of available abortion†¦all kinds of education, such as, sex education, contraceptive education†¦ would be my solution to an over-population problem† (M. Asriel, personal communication, 04 October 2017). Melanie Asriel views a overpopulation problem stems from a lack of education in family planning,†¦show more content†¦(p. 2) This data provides evidence that a rapidly growing population will lead to conflict. The REL4 solution will alleviate the overpopulation problem by addressing the need for contraceptives and limiting all consenting adults to four children. The United States Census Bureau website population clock stood at 7,424,919,320 as of 13:38 CT, 01 October 2017. In fifteen days the world’s population has grown by 3,372,370. The world can no longer continue to rapidly multiply, because it is out of land and food. For the REL4 solution to work education from public and private educators, public health organizations, and corporation from a governmental licensing agencies will be needed. Public health organizations such as health departments or primary care physicians will provide step one in REL4. The first step, Reproductive Education (RE) is in-depth sex education and use of contraceptives, which will be given to all children when puberty is reached. This education will be optional and only given with written consent from the parents. However, there are stipulations associated with denial of the education, such as fines if the child has an unplanned pregnancy. A governmental licensing agency will provide the second step, which will be when two consenting adults are ready to conceive a child.
